ABOUT THIS ROLE
The Digital Operations Manager has a team of direct reports and is responsible for the day to day running, performance, security, and up time of the ghdhair.com platform. Management of integrations to third parties from ghdhair.com also falls under their control.
Reporting into the Global Director of Digital Development & Operations, the role is hands on with the day-to-day administration of the ghdhair.com platform and related systems. Managing required vendor updates and minimising downtime where achievable, the Digital Operations Manager will manage the team to proactively monitor the operational health of ghdhair.com to ensure revenue, identify repetitive patterns and opportunities for enhancement.
You will need to foster collaborative ways of working with the wider development, ecommerce and IT teams and external providers. You must be a good communicator, be calm under pressure, understand standard ecommerce functions, have experience of systems integration with internal and 3rd party systems.
LOCATION
This role will be based in our Leeds office, and we offer a hybrid working pattern of 3 days in the office and 2 days WFH.
JOB ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Execute day-to-day administration of commerce systems and related platforms
- Maximise platform revenue by ensuring the order lifecycle completes uninterrupted
- Identify repeating issues as candidates for development
- Proactively monitor logging systems
- Provide timely reporting to leadership on operational performance KPIs
- Plan and execute seasonal performance testing
- Support related business teams across all functions of the commerce platform
- Collaborate with the Technical Delivery Manager to ensure smooth delivery of development releases and vendor specific patches
- Collaborate with the Development Manager to feedback application performance issues and opportunities for improvement
- Manage direct reports and ensure direct reports are accountable for their deliverables
- Align with ghd performance process to ensure goals are reviewed and set with direct reports in line with ghd schedule
- Review and manage direct report holiday requests as appropriate
- Mentor and support the team and direct report to deliver best-in-class execution of team deliverables
- Set clear goals, performance metrics, and development plans for the team
- Oversee recruitment, onboarding and training of new team members
- Conduct regular one-on-one meetings
- Proactively manage risks and issues
- Communicate regularly with senior leadership to report on progress, challenges and roadmaps

REQUIREMENTS
- Analytical-thinking and problem-solving capabilities who can collaborate with the company Digital, PMO, product and business
- Practical experience in successfully delivering IT projects from inception to delivery
- Operational background in a multi-national, multi-channel business in a manufacturing, FMCG or similar organisation
- Functional end to end experience across eCommerce, Commercial and Customer Service, with a solid understanding of B2B and B2C processes together with the financial relationships relating to each function
- Experience of platforms such as CDNs, payment gateways, iPaaS solutions, customer marketing platforms, domain name systems – technologies needed to drive maximum success from the ecom platform
- Solid knowledge of interfaces and interactions between core internal applications (eCommerce Platform & ERP) and external partners (EDI, web services)
- Experience of defining and documenting processes, identifying gaps and proposing improvements in line with business strategy
- Experienced in sustaining strong working relationships with business stakeholders and the Development Team
- Practical experience of best practice methodology in solution and service delivery and in project management, using both waterfall & agile methodologies
- Enthusiastic and flexible with a pragmatic, hands-on approach, with the ability to understand the bigger picture
- Ability to work autonomously and to plan and organise own and direct report workloads and work within challenging deadlines
- Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate direct reports
