Climate17 is working with an international renewable energy business with a rich pipeline of US utility-scale projects.


They are actively seeking an Electrical Engineer for project support in development, design, and cost estimation – the focus is large scale solar PV projects (100 MW).


The role is based in Houston, hybrid model of 3 days in office and 2 days remote.


Responsibilities



  • Collaborate with Engineers and Development Managers for project support in development, design, and cost estimation.

  • Gather and analyze key technical data including site drawings, electricity load, and costs.

  • Review and validate Solar PV layouts, electrical diagrams, and perform energy modelling (PVsyst).

  • Support Procurement and EPC teams by preparing technical documents and coordinating engineering work.

  • Assist financial teams with Technical Due Diligence and manage interconnection applications if needed.

  • Conduct site visits, ensure compliance with safety standards, and maintain strong business relationships.


Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in Electrical Engineering.

  • 5 years of experience in Solar PV or Energy Storage commercial development including project development, design and engineering, and construction of energy generation projects.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Excel and PV SYST.

  • Understanding of NEC and codes pertaining to commercial Solar PV.

  • Solid understanding of renewable energy markets and project lifecycle.
