Due to increased demand, we are expanding our team and looking for an experienced Fire Alarm Systems Tutor to join our new training academy.

Role Overview:

As a Fire Alarm Tutor, you will deliver engaging, practical classroom training sessions to learners undertaking fire alarm qualifications (including Level 3). You’ll help professionals develop their skills and knowledge, ensuring they meet current industry standards and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver classroom training on fire detection and alarm systems, including theory and practical assessments.
• Prepare lesson plans and teaching materials in line with qualification specifications (British Standards).
• Assess learners’ performance, provide constructive feedback, and maintain accurate records.
• Support learners with any additional learning needs and offer one-to-one guidance where required.
• Stay up to date with current legislation, British Standards (e.g., BS 5839), and industry best practices.
• Participate in standardisation meetings and continuous improvement processes.

Requirements:

Essential:

• Extensive industry experience in fire alarm system installation, commissioning, or maintenance.
• In-depth knowledge of BS 5839 and relevant fire safety legislation.
• Recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PTLLS, AET, or willingness to work toward one).
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to adapt training to suit varying levels of learner experience.

Desirable:

• Experience delivering fire training courses or equivalent fire alarm qualifications.
• Assessor qualification
• Previous experience as a trainer or mentor in a technical environment.
