SUMMARY OF THE ROLE
Your role will be to research, plan and set the overarching strategy of digital comms campaigns across owned and earned channels using PR, social and influencer techniques. Using creative thinking, strategic planning and a degree of execution skills you will create holistic content marketing campaigns which reach target audiences and unlock performance. We expect you to be able to utilise a range of data and insight tools, supported by the data and insights team for deeper-dives to form an understanding of audiences, their interests, triggers and their media consumption in order to plan a channel mix and outreach plan accordingly.
You will be responsible for the creation of client’s strategies and also have responsibility for identifying which content is relevant and in-demand within client’s sectors, and play a key part guiding the asset creation (copy, design, events video etc) process through written creative briefs and collaboration with the inhouse creative team and freelancers.
You will also undertake a support role operationally, assisting in the organisation of workloads, account allocations, document use and training exec and assistant level staff, where necessary.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Content Strategy and Application
o Supporting and creation of content strategies across owned and earned channels – familiar with using and devising content frameworks, pillars and publishing strategies
o Align digital content outreach efforts with the overall content strategy to ensure synergy and maximise impact
o Develop and promote linkable assets that contribute to organic search visibility to support SEO for owned territories
o Understand the role of discovery channels such as YouTube, Reddit and TikTok and how they can fulfil goals within communications / content strategies and campaigns
o Work with the SEO team to understand and ideate for the wider search and discovery landscape in line with both client retainers and specific client campaigns
Link Building Initiatives
o Implement strategic link-building campaigns to secure high-quality backlinks from authoritative sources
o Identify and outreach to relevant influencers, bloggers, and publications to build a strong backlink profile
Client reporting / reputation monitoring
o Working with the Comms assistant to monitor brand mentions across all digital platforms and use this to create reactive opportunities for clients
o Outreach to platforms and publications for brand mentions, enhancing online visibility and reporting back to campaign metrics and client goals
Media Relationship Building
o Cultivate relationships with journalists, bloggers, and influencers within the industry to secure coverage and backlinks
o Collaborate with media outlets for featured articles and interviews that enhance the brand's online presence
o Work with the comms assistant to maintain an up to date directory relevant to client retainers – involving both channel teams / CS teams in potential within channels through training / media opportunities and co-creation
Data Analysis and Reporting
o Utilise analytics tools to measure the impact of digital PR, social, influencer and outreach efforts
o Provide regular reports on key performance indicators and adjust strategies accordingly
o Feed into broader client report milestones i.e. QBRs
Social Media Amplification
o Utilise social media to amplify digital PR content across social channels, increasing its reach and engagement.
o Where relevant leverage social media platforms for additional link-building opportunities and support for other KPI’s
o Work with the comms assistant in the management of owned social channels for key agency clients
Agency and Team Management
o Work closely with content creators, SEO strategists, client services, and other relevant teams to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to client performance
o Be responsible for producing clear and concise briefs, working closely with the “Heads Of” and the creative team to create impactful solutions
o Have an awareness of the profitability and time allocation for your projects, including understanding third party costs (i.e. Survey) and the implication to the project fee
o Take responsibility for the development of the Comms Assistant including day to day management through to PDP and training opportunities
Insight and Leadership
o Keep abreast of industry trends, news, and developments to inform PR strategies and capitalize on emerging opportunities.
o Stay informed about changes in the search and discovery media landscape, social media, and PR tactics to adapt strategies accordingly
From time to time, you may be required to carry out additional duties to meet the needs of the business, for example carrying out mandatory training or tasks assigned by your manager.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Knowledge, Technology & Qualifications:
· At least 3 years’ Digital PR and social experience
· Line management experience would be a bonus
· Capable of managing multiple campaigns at the same time
· Proficient in the use of MS Office Suite, as well as social listening and PR insight and reporting tools
Skills or Competences
