Operations Import Clerk
Location: Armley/Leeds – Head Office
We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented Operations Import Clerk to join our busy Freight team at our head office in Armley, Leeds
Role Purpose
To provide efficient administrative support for sea import operations, working closely with the Freight team to ensure the smooth execution of daily import processes and procedures
Key Responsibilities
Your key tasks will include:

Processing import freight shipments efficiently and accurately
*
Calculating and preparing customs entries in line with HMRC regulations
*
Applying knowledge of customs rules and commercial documentation, including Bills of Lading
*
Coordinating and scheduling deliveries in accordance with customer requirements
*
Managing customer interactions, including handling enquiries, quotations, and bookings
*
Ensuring a high standard of service is maintained throughout all communications
Person Specification
To succeed in this role, you will ideally bring:
*
Previous administration experience, ideally within freight forwarding
*
Knowledge of freight handling procedures and international trade compliance
*
Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office
*
A good standard of literacy and numeracy
*
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
*
A high level of attention to detail
*
Creative problem-solving abilities and a proactive mindset
*
Flexibility to adapt to changing workloads and shift patterns
Salary : DOE
