The Outsourcing GB business delivers high quality pension administration services and solutions to clients in GB, Ireland, Germany, and Asia. We provide fully outsourced pension administration services or co-sourced services, where we supply our software for a client to administer their scheme in-house. Outsourcing GB is currently the largest provider of pension administration services to the top 200 private sector funds including several high street banks.
The Resource Manager is an exciting opportunity to oversee the resource of a fast-paced portfolio of projects within our overall delivery roadmap reporting into the Project Management Practice. This role will be the custodian of our resource management process.
They will be responsible for the resource management process, reporting and providing insights which drive strategic planning and prioritisation with a strong focus on risk and issue management. They will also be responsible for utilisation tracking across the portfolio.
This role will require excellent stakeholder management and communication skills and will involve preparation for and contribution to portfolio governance forums.
This is a broad and stimulating role and essential that the successful candidate is flexible whilst maintaining a positive outlook.
The Role
Team/People
- Working with PM resources supporting a number of scrum teams and locations
- Develop and maintain the resource demand pipeline to ensure resources are fully utilized and capacity constraints clearly understood and communicated
Business Engagement
- Providing key stakeholders with timely assessment of resource utilisation and availability
- Collaborate with project managers and functional leads to forecast resource needs and resolve resourcing conflicts
- Assisting call makers with the review, re-prioritisation and optimisation of the portfolio of projects for Outsourcing GB
Delivery
- Manage supply and demand planning across all portfolio projects
- Acts as liaison and escalation on resourcing issues, risks and dependencies across the portfolio
- Defines and manages the resource management process
- Monitor capacity, utilisation and availability of resources to ensure optimal utilisation
- Maintain up-to-date resource planning tools and reports
- Provide regular reporting on utilisation, capacity and availability
- Support performance and skills tracking to inform project assignments
Manage the scheduling impacts to the portfolio when new work is approved
Best Practice
- Continuously assess and improve the resource management process in collaboration with functional leaders across the line of business
- Analyse resource data and trends to inform making choices
- Prepares management Governance packs synchronized with the agreed governance reporting cycle

The Requirements
- Extensive experience working as a PMO Lead, Planning Lead or Resource Manager
- Highly experienced and knowledgeable of the Scrum delivery methodologies
- Highly experienced and knowledgeable of waterfall project delivery methodologies
- Confident, motivated self-starter, able to work effectively without close supervision with team members across different locations
- Collaborative leadership style, self-aware with the ability to adapt style as necessary
- Detail-oriented and able to cross-check and ensure accuracy of detailed documents
- Ability to communicate with all levels of seniority effectively
- Highly professional team member with a strong sense of integrity
- Demonstrable problem solving and reasoning skills relevant to a business change delivery role
- Critical thinking to facilitate more in-depth discussions
- Ability to thrive and drive delivery in a busy, demanding and changing environment
