University of Leeds

Financial Governance, Risk & Compliance Project Manager

This role will be based on the university campus, with scope for it to be undertaken in a hybrid manner. We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements.

Are you an experienced professional who has a broad understanding of financial controls, risks & compliance and finance & project governance; and interested in a new challenge? Do you have experience designing, developing and managing financial control frameworks which support compliance? Can you build effective relationships and influence at a senior level, providing support and guidance across a large complex environment?

Maintaining the integrity of the University’s financial information is essential and this is underpinned through robust and proportionate governance, financial controls, policies, procedures and processes. We are looking for an experienced manager to join the team to support both our Corporate, Processes and Systems (CPS) Programme and lead the governance activities of the finance team, further developing the control environment, engaging with stakeholders across the organisation. You will ensure that control frameworks that support compliance are adequate, effective, simple and well understood.

The CPS Programme is an exciting project which will transform the University’s business processes and existing SAP system; and maintaining a robust control framework and financial integrity will be critical to the project’s success.

The ideal candidate will be a professional, pragmatic, and an influential individual, who will relish the challenge of using their professional experience and expertise to deliver change where it is required, and to consolidate and extend good practice where it exists.

What we offer in return

  • 26 days holiday plus 16 Bank Holidays/days that the University is closed by custom (including Christmas) –that’s 42 days a year!

  • Generous pension scheme plus life assurance.

  • Health and Wellbeing: Discounted staff membership options at The Edge, our state-of-the-art Campus gym, with a pool, sauna, climbing wall, cycle circuit, and sports halls.

  • Personal Development: Access to courses run by our Organisational Development & Professional Learning team.

  • Access to on-site childcare, shopping discounts and travel schemes are also available.

And much more!
