As a Forensic Medical Examiner, you will learn through clinical placements and blended learning, with personal support from an allocated mentor.
We will identify an individualised programme of education and clinical exposure, providing examination opportunities and financial support during this post.
Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out medical and forensic examinations following Mountain Healthcare guidelines and within your professional registration scope.
- Assist the Court in medico-legal matters.
- Practice as an independent medical practitioner exercising clinical judgement.
- Treat all service users with courtesy, consideration, and appropriate care.
- Maintain current knowledge of relevant guidelines and publications by the British.
- Understand and be sensitive to the child's developmental, social, emotional needs, and intellectual level.

Job responsibilities
As part of the Forensic Medical Programme, Mountain Healthcare has developed a framework to enhance knowledge and skills applicable across multiple specialties, especially A&E, GP, paediatrics, psychiatry, and Forensic Medicine. What makes this post unique:

Sexual Offences Examiner/Experienced Forensic Physician - West Yorkshire

Location: Hazlehurst Centre SARC, West Yorkshire
Additional Locations: North Yorkshire SARC
Hours: 16 hours/week
Rota: covering 5-8 shifts, 365(6) days/year, including on-call and office work.
Salary:
- Sexual Offence Examiner - £79,497 FTE
- Experienced Forensic Physician - £82,638 FTE

Person Specification
Qualifications
- Medical Degree & Foundation Training completion
- Minimum 3 years UK residency for police checks
- Diploma in Legal Medicine
- Membership of FFLM or Licentiate
Experience
- Basic Life Support and experience in acute settings
- Interest in Sexual Health
- Experience in A&E, paediatrics, obstetrics, research, or audit
- Experience in GP, emergency medicine, sexual health, substance misuse, prison healthcare, or mental health
