Job Description Heavy Plant Fitter Location Hybrid work in Leeds LS XT :

OverviewWe are seeking a skilled Fitter to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in fitting and assembly, demonstrating precision and attention to detail. As a Fitter, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that components are accurately assembled and meet the required specifications. This position requires both technical expertise and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment. Candidate must hold NVQ Level 1, 2 and 3.

Responsibilities

• Interpret technical drawings and specifications to assemble components accurately


• Use various hand tools and machinery to fit parts together, ensuring precision in measurements


• Conduct quality checks on assembled products to guarantee compliance with standards


• Collaborate with engineers and other team members to troubleshoot issues during the fitting process


• Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations


• Document work completed and report any discrepancies or defects in materials

Experience

• Proven experience as a Fitter or in a similar role within manufacturing or engineering environments


• Strong understanding of mechanical systems and assembly processes


• Proficiency in reading technical drawings and schematics


• Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment


• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail


• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
