As the Regional Face to Face Fundraising Manager you will play a significant role in the management of our regional F2F Fundraisers who work on our canal and waterway towpaths, attractions and museums, events, open days and private sites ensuring our Values & Behaviours and performance excellence standards are met on a consistent basis.

You will be responsible for all regional tactical planning, systems and ways of working associated with the face-to-face fundraising team.

The successful candidate will deliver the agreed results targets and KPI’s for the region in recruitment of Friends, Contactless Donations, Newsletter acquisition and any other new methodsand products; ensuring a positive and professional committment to local engagement and promotion of the Trust’s brand. You will support the delivery of events and engagement, and support the National F2F Fundraising Manager in the pursuit of championing and maintaining a high performance culture of results, behaviours and values outlined by the Trust.

Location & coverage

This is a hybrid role with mainly remote working for at least 60% of the week and work at local hub/home. It involves regular travel around the region to different sites. You will be assigned one of the below main hub spaces as as your formal base -

Relevant hubs Leeds/Burnley/Ellesmere Port/Bradford/Anderton.

The regularity & flexibility of travel will be discussed further at interview stage.

Working Hours 37 hours Wednesday - Sunday.

Key Accountabilities

  • Working with the National F2F Fundraising Manager to devise robust strategies that adopt a growth mindset and support achieving volume and quality based fundraising targets, developing fundraising techniques that improve income generation for the Trust.
  • Lead on the tactical planning and through the F2F fundraising team leaders ensure effective deployment of the fundraising team (including the welfare, site booking and planning, scheduling rotas and risk assessments)
  • Lead on all processes associated with the programme including Recruitment, performance management, site visiting, logistics, results management, associated admin and project work.
  • Directly line manage all Fundraising Team leaders and Fundraising Performance coaches within a region; with an ambition to grow the teams and headcount into new areas of working and regional locations.
  • Be field based, visible and site visiting regional fundraisers for 60% of the working week and create a values and behaviours based culture of ethical and compliant successful fundraising.
  • Lead the team to achieve agreed income targets and KPI’s and take prompt action to problem solve where targets are not being met.
  • Provide data to Insight Data Analyst on a weekly basis to enable weekly performance reports on a national and regional basis to be produced and identify areas of performance improvement and opportunities.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all data obtained by donors is managed and processed in accordance with the GDPR and Trust procedures.
  • Identify training and development needs within the fundraising team and adept at providing performance coaching and management to meet standards.
  • Ensure that the F2F fundraising team Maintain high standards of integrity and behaviours, compliant with the fundraising code of practice and is consistent with the Trust’s values.
  • Supervise and support mystery shopping and observational audits of every fundraiser in their team; gaining insight, data and evidence that can be used to support best coaching practices and areas of training and development.
  • Develop and regularly review new and existing working locations like high footfall towpath locations, Covid-19 secure locations, events that will support the recruitment of our Friends, contactless donations and newsletter acquisition.
  • Develop and implement newly introduced “supporter” offers, products and propositions that complement our 3-tiered approach like local call to actions, volunteer recruitment and wider fundraising products.
  • Responsible for overseeing and managing our health and safety culture and ensuring daily risk assessments and health and safety guidelines are being carried out comprehensively in line with the Trusts procedures.


Skills, knowledge & experience

Qualifications, Attainments & Work experience

  • A-level or NVQ Level 3 business administration qualification or equivalent work experience.
  • Significant experience of managing financial performance, targets and KPI’s.
  • Good knowledge of health and safety procedures
  • Significant experience in face-to-face fundraising
  • Experience of management, supervision, and coaching
  • Experience of leading volunteers and working within local communities
  • A good knowledge of the codes of best practice set out by the Fundraising Regulator & Institute of Fundraising
  • Experience of working within the Third Sector/Voluntary organisations is desirable

  • Driver’s licence - Essential
