Job Title: Operational Analyst
Location: Leeds – Hybrid working (FT – 3 days a week in Home Office)
Department: Asda Money, Mobile and Gift Card Business Unit
Reports To: Asda Money, Mobile and Gift Card Operations Manager

Role Overview: We are seeking an analytical and organized Operational Analyst to join our team. This role will focus on delivering actionable insights and robust reporting to support data-driven decision-making across Asda Money & Mobile teams. The Analyst will work closely with stakeholders across product, operations, compliance, and finance to ensure that business performance is accurately measured, trends are understood, and opportunities for growth or improvement are identified.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Analysis:- Design, develop, and maintain dashboards and reports in tools such as Power BI, ensuring data accuracy, clarity, and relevance.
- Interpret complex data sets to identify key business insights, performance trends, and risk indicators.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand reporting needs, gather requirements, and translate them into technical solutions.
- Partner with Data Engineering teams to ensure data pipelines, models, and sources are accurate and well-maintained.
- Support Asda Money & Mobile strategic initiatives with timely and accurate analysis, helping influence decisions on product development, customer experience, and financial performance.
- Ensure all outputs comply with regulatory requirement.
- Present findings and recommendations through developing dashboards, reports, and visualizations to communicate key insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Coordination:- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, marketing, and product teams, to ensure alignment of operational activities and reporting.
- Serve as the main point of contact for operational and governance data inquiries and ensure timely and accurate reporting.
- Facilitate the implementation of process improvements across business units.
Qualifications and Skills:
Not all criteria are essential – we’re looking for a strong overall fit.
- Proven experience as a BI Analyst or Data Analyst, ideally within financial services or regulated environments.
- Strong tack-record in retail performance tracking, including sales uplift analysis, customer insight, and identifying drivers of commercial performance.
- Strong skills in Power BI, SQL, Excel and data modelling. Python is desirable.
- Skilled in automating business processes and reporting workflows using tools such as Power Automate, reducing manual effort and improving efficiency.
- Ability to interpret complex data and communicate findings clearly.
- Experience working with cloud data platforms (e.g., Databricks, Azure, Power BI Service and Dataflows).
- Strong commercial awareness and understanding of KPIs relevant to financial services (e.g., conversion, margin, arrears).
- Familiarity with data governance, privacy, and compliance in a financial setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively across teams.
- Detail-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
