The role
Looking for a dynamic, fast-paced volunteer role? Come and be part of our buzzing Retail Hub in Bramley - home to our Warehouse, e-Commerce Team and Bramley shop (conveniently located near bus routes 14 and 91).
We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who have an interest in books and media (CDs, DVDs, VHS, cassette tapes, etc). You will use your IT skills to scan donated books into an online platform and research antique / high value items. Please Note - this role will require some heavy lifting.
What You’ll Get Involved With:
- Greeting donors and bringing stock into the warehouse.
- Sorting incoming donations of books, DVDs, CDs VHS, cassettes etc.
- Scanning incoming stock (books and DVDs) using an online platform to generate income.
- Processing stock to go out to shops.
- Sending items to external organisations for recycling.
Volunteering in our charity shops and retail teams helps provide vital funds to support patients, their family and friends. Our retail teams are friendly and supportive and full training can be given for each role.

St Gemma’s Hospice is an independent Leeds-based charity and one of the leading hospices in the UK, providing expert care and support for local people with life-limiting and terminal illnesses. We offer care to patients, families and carers in the Hospice’s In-Patient Unit, through the St Gemma’s community team, and at our Out-Patients.
