Are you an ambitious academic with a passion for applied mental health care research and research-informed education? Do you want to work with world-leading professors in the applied health and care research field and contribute to translation of this to undergraduate and postgraduate education? Do you want to further your career in one of the UK’s leading research-intensive Universities?

We are looking for a Research Fellow (Mental Health) to help the team deliver a 30-month research project exploring incidents and staffing on adult acute mental health wards: the #StaffedWards project. The School of Healthcare brings together a community of dynamic and successful applied health and social care researchers, committed to making a positive difference to the lives of people who use health and social care services or work in these environments, including contributing to research-led education.

The Quality and Safety research theme is interdisciplinary and we undertake high-quality applied research to understand and improve the quality and safety of health and care services. We address questions that matter to people and communities, patients and families, health and care professionals and organisations, health and care professional educators and policymakers.

With a postgraduate degree and ideally a PhD (or be near to submitting a PhD, or possess a Masters degree with equivalent research experience) in a subject area relating to applied health and care research, you will be able to demonstrate experience in a relevant care setting. Ideally, you will have experience of teaching or supervising students at undergraduate or postgraduate level.
