We are looking for a Sales Team Leader to join our Passenger Experience Team - a rare opportunity to advance your leadership skills within a forward-thinking organisation committed to innovation and improvement. In this key role, you will lead a team of three Administrators, two Accountancy Admin Assistants, and one Stock Control Officer. You will play a vital part in shaping the future of sales and ticketing as we prepare for major developments, including Bus Reform and franchising. Your leadership will help drive our commercial growth whilst ensuring we continue to deliver the highest standards of service to our customers.
This role is ideal for a Sales Team Leader with good leadership skills, a collaborative approach, and experience in a fast-paced retail or service environment. You will be responsible for maintaining capacity to support increased sales and commercial activity and improving operational efficiency across the board. A focus on timely customer responses, accurate invoicing, and consistent service delivery is central to this role.
As Sales Team Leader you will also work closely with colleagues across the Combined Authority - including Travel Centre staff, the Inclusive Travel Team, Metro Line, Finance, and Customer Feedback, to ensure seamless coordination and a unified approach to customer service. Whilst the Sales Team operates Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm, cover responsibilities are shared across the team to promote flexible working and a healthy work-life balance.

The Role
Reporting into the Frontline Services Coordinator, your key responsibilities will include:

Responsible for the day-to-day management of the Haven tilling system and MCard back- office systems acting as primary contact with Travel Centres and Operators.

Manage the Sales Team to ensure that the recording and controlling of prepayment (and other products), sales and revenue data is undertaken promptly and accurately.

Ensure that all revenues from the sale of prepaid tickets is received and accounted for in accordance with financial and audit guidelines.

Manage the Corporate and gifting MCard scheme (including consulting with scheme members at strategic level and developing corporate sales).

About You You will have the following key skills, attributes, education and experience:

Educated to GCSE level or equivalent in Maths and English.

Good understanding of CRM and Financial Systems.

Experience of Retail Sales and Ticketing systems (Card Management and Financial).

Practicable experience dealing with customer enquiries, feedback and complaints.

Knowledge of Stock Control Processes.
-
Practical experience of successfully performing in a similar role.
