About The Role



Atlas Workplace Services has an opportunity for an experienced and reliable Security Officer to join our team in Bristol



  • Fixed Term Contract, 7 Months

  • Working week - Friday to Sunday, 10:00 - 17:00

  • Rate - £12.60 per hour



As a Security Officer, you will have a proven record of delivering site-based security operations within a corporate environment and acting in the best interests of our clients and customers at all times.


You will ensure the safety of staff and customers' assets within their working environment, whilst providing excellent customer service. We pride ourselves on delivering excellent customer service in a safe and secure environment.


This role includes acting as a visual deterrent, liaising with police and emergency services, report writing, and conducting internal/external patrols.




Principle Duties and Responsibilities



  1. Maintain quality of service to Clients and customers.

  2. Maintain safe and secure environments protecting people, property, and assets. Identify threats and vulnerabilities, taking appropriate action to mitigate risks.

  3. Control access/egress procedures, including checking passes and supporting management. Book in and issue passes to visitors and contractors, ensuring compliance with local procedures, fire registers, and notifications.

  4. Promote a positive security culture at all times.

  5. Maintain Daily Occurrence Book (DOB) and ensure incidents are promptly reported. Submit detailed incident reports.

  6. Report customer complaints to supervision promptly.

  7. Observe all fire and health and safety regulations. Promote safety culture.

  8. Conduct duties according to AI’s, SOPs, and company policies. Record significant occurrences accurately in the DOB.

  9. Protect sensitive information according to policies.

  10. Carry out daily audits of key registers and keys issued.

  11. Support reception staff during absence to manage site access requests.

  12. Support weekly fire alarm tests as required.

  13. Maintain professional standards, focus on quality service, manage time effectively, and cooperate with requests.

  14. Act in the best interests of the Client and customers, building trust and positive relationships.

  15. Promote a professional, courteous, and helpful image.

  16. Freedom to Act

  17. Operate within operational and management guidelines.

  18. Work within Atlas Corporate Governance limits.

  19. Escalate H&S issues to Salisbury or liaise with Atlas’s Head of Health & Safety as needed.


About You


Minimum Qualifications, Certifications, and Training


  • First Aid Certificate (Emergency First Aid at Work minimum)

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience



  • Security experience

  • Practical experience of site emergency response procedures

  • Understanding of risk, vulnerability identification, and mitigation

  • Ability to work under pressure
