Are you a hands-on problem solver who thrives in fast-paced, high-tech environments?

Do you enjoy making a real impact — ensuring mission-critical systems run seamlessly where they matter most?

A leading international provider of advanced security and detection technology is looking for a Field Service Engineer to join its UK team, primarily to cover the West Yorkshire and North West regions.

As a Field Service Engineer, you'll be the go-to expert for installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of sophisticated detection systems at major airports and critical infrastructure sites.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering preventive maintenance and urgent repair services across a range of security technologies

  • Installing, calibrating, and servicing complex X-ray and CT-based systems

  • Conducting on-site operator training and providing remote technical support

  • Diagnosing issues and resolving system faults with minimal supervision

  • Acting as a trusted point of contact for customers — ensuring high satisfaction and operational excellence

  • Travelling to sites across the Yorkshire and North West regions, often at short notice

You’ll play a vital role in maintaining public safety, working with industry-leading systems used across the aviation and security landscape.

We’re looking for someone who combines technical expertise with great communication and customer service skills. You should be comfortable working both independently and as part of a small, dynamic team.

Key requirements:

  • Technical training (e.g., electronics, electrical engineering, or military background)

  • Solid experience in a field service role, ideally within high-tech, security, or aviation industries

  • Strong understanding of digital/analogue circuits — Linux experience is a bonus

  • Confidence working with high-voltage systems and complex diagnostic equipment

  • Ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities, and travel frequently

Desirable experience:

  • Experience with x-ray or CT-based technologies

  • Background in aviation, critical infrastructure, or global service operations
