Are you a care assistant or support worker with experience supporting individuals with additional needs? Are you looking to bring your compassion and care experience into a school setting? A specialist SEN school in Leeds is looking for a patient, supportive and dedicated teaching assistant to join their team. This role is a great fit for someone who has worked in care and is ready to make a difference in education



As a teaching assistant for a SEN school, you’ll work closely with pupils who have a range of needs including autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties. Your experience in care will be highly valued in building trust, encouraging independence, and supporting students emotionally and socially throughout the school day



About the Role:



In this role, you’ll assist teachers in and out of the classroom, offering one-to-one and small group support. You’ll help create a calm, structured environment where every child feels safe and understood. Your background as a care assistant or support worker means you’ll already have many of the key skills needed empathy, resilience, and a commitment to person centred support



We’re Looking For:



* Experience in care or support work, ideally with children or young people

* A calm, nurturing approach and a strong team ethic

* A genuine interest in special educational needs

* Confidence in supporting emotional and behavioural needs

* A full-time commitment and willingness to learn in a school environment

* A relevant qualification or school experience is helpful but not essential
