Are you a CNC machinist with management experience looking to take the next step in your career? If so Futures are working with a well established Manufacturer based near Leeds who work in a niche corner of the market. We are looking to appoint a Machine Shop Supervisor who will be very hands on in the role operating CNC machines whilst managing a small team of moulders and operatives
Key Responsibilities:
• Ensure all shop floor documentation, logs, and maintenance records are accurately maintained
• Lead and supervise a team of CNC machinists, programmers, and setup operators in a high-precision, multi-axis machining environment
• Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to resolve technical issues, improve processes, and ensure product conformity
• Review and validate CNC programs, tooling, and setup sheets for 3- and 5-axis machines
• Perform first-article inspections and support in-process inspections to maintain product integrity
• Monitor and improve team performance through training, coaching, and performance evaluations
• Enforce safety protocols and promote a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence
Qualifications:
• Minimum 5 years of experience in CNC machining, including 3- to 5-axis machines
• Minimum 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience in a regulated manufacturing environment
• Strong knowledge CNC programming, and machining best practices
• Familiarity with ERP systems
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and team-building skills
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced, quality-driven environment
