As a Technical Application Specialist, you'd be part of our Homes Platform Team, working as a member of the Servicing Lab. Delivering solutions on the bank's core Mortgage Servicing Platform, accountable for servicing 20% of UK's Mortgages.
On your CV we'll be looking for someone who is willing to learn and develop their skills in the software development lifecycle to deliver technical solutions onto the Unisys UFSS system for the Mortgage business. An inquisitive mind-set is essential, and we would really like to see evidence of the role you have played in designing and delivering software solutions to add new value to customers.
Key responsibilities
- Collaborate with a broad set of technical specialists and engineers across Mortgages and other value streams to solve challenges and deliver valuable solutions to our customers.
- Work closely with the bank's IT application suppliers and partners to ensure that those customer goals are understood and appropriate solutions are delivered in a timely fashion
- Contributes to a continuously improving engineering experience.
- To work closely with the Quality Engineers and provides a joined-up approach to development and testing of solutions.
- To own your development plan and seek opportunities to continuously improve yourself.
- To perform own work in accordance with the values and behaviours and risk parameters of the bank.

What you'll need:
- Software Engineering Skills with a track record of delivering software products and solutions is crucial with a good sound knowledge of software development lifecycle.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Capability to operate across various systems, technologies, and data sources
- Knowledge of the Mortgage process and Mortgage systems is an advantage.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A Great collaborator with an inquisitive approach.
- Organised and able to work within a self-managed team to achieve great outcomes as a team.

This role is for someone who wants to develop and can combine both technical & problem solving credentials with the ability to shape and communicate solutions. And any experience of these would be really useful:
- Experience with agile development methodologies & tools, for example, Scrum, Kanban, Jira, and Confluence. Experience of Data Analysis, Solution & Design, Mortgage Lifecycle & Mortgage Systems.
- Strong grasp of data analysis and data querying tools/technologies such as Oracle / DB2 and SQL would also be desirable.
- Experience with the Unisys UFSS application would be an advantage but not essential and training will be provided.
