ISS is seeking a Legionella Risk Assessor to join our team, helping us deliver reliable, high-quality services that support our clients’ operations.This role plays an important part in maintaining water safety across a range of environments, while also offering strong development opportunities within a global organisation.The ideal base location is Leeds, with travel expected across the Midlands, across the whole of the North West, & Scotland.The position offers a salary of £30,000–£35,000, plus overtime, and includes a Band 4 company car.
Job Description
You’ll be responsible for carrying out detailed risk assessments on commercial, industrial, scientific, and domestic water systems.The systems vary in complexity, so you’ll need a thorough and methodical approach, along with the ability to adapt to different working environments.This is a varied and hands-on role, well-suited to someone with strong technical knowledge and a practical mindset.In return, ISS offers clear progression pathways, ongoing support, and the chance to develop your career within a supportive and professional team.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed Legionella risk assessments and provide mitigation recommendations
- Ensure highest standards of health, safety, and compliance at all times
- Create and update schematic drawings using Visio or similar software
- Advise on water and plumbing risks while remaining impartial from chargeable works
- Attend technical meetings and contribute to forums as required
- Manage workload effectively, prioritising tasks and meeting deadlines
- Provide clear, detailed reports and issue certification for all completed works
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
- Recognised plumbing qualifications preferred to support accurate remedial action
- Strong understanding of BS8580-01:2019, ACoP L8, and HSG274 Parts 2 and 3
- Highly experienced in conducting Risk Assessments
- Proficient in IT software, including Visio for schematic diagrams
- Full UK driving licence essential
- Dedicated and reliable with strong technical knowledge
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
