Amet Contracting Group Ltd

Location: Leeds, UK

Salary: Starting from £50,000 (DOE) plus performance-based incentive scheme

Start date: Immediate

Contract: Full-time

About the role:

We’re looking for a Business Development Manager with a strong background in construction, and in particular, extensive experience with materials (specifically soil and aggregates). You’ll be at the heart of our growth, helping to secure new business, build strong relationships, and support the smooth running of several large sites around the Leeds area.

This is a hands-on role, so will involve site visits, combined with office-based work (remote). You’ll need to understand the ins and outs of sourcing materials for large-scale projects, including managing MMPs (Materials Management Plans) and compliance-based tasks.

Key responsibilities:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the Leeds and surrounding area.

  • Build and maintain relationships with contractors, suppliers, and other key partners.

  • Support the running of multiple large sites, ensuring the right materials are sourced and delivered on time and to specification.

  • Help manage and oversee MMPs, ensuring compliance and efficiency.

  • Work closely with the wider team to develop strategies for sustainable growth and repeat business.

Who we're looking for:

  • Proven experience in business development within the UK construction industry.

  • A very good understanding of construction materials (soils and aggregates) and the supply chain.

  • Experience working on large construction sites.

  • Familiarity with MMPs and materials management best practice.

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

  • Self-motivated and able to work both independently and as part of a team.

  • Must hold a full, valid UK driving licence.

If you’re passionate about construction, enjoy building strong relationships, and want to make a real impact in a growing business, we’d love to hear from you.
