Robert Half Accountancy and Finance is delighted to be recruiting for a Financial Controller to lead the financial operations of a thriving Civil Engineering business based in Leeds. As the Financial Controller, you will take ownership of the company's financial operations, ensuring robust reporting and driving business efficiency through insightful analysis. Alongside overseeing day-to-day financial management, this hands-on position will allow you to work on strategic initiatives with the senior leadership team.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Lead the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly management accounts, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.

  • Oversee all transactional accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and inventory.

  • Manage the budgeting and forecasting processes, aligning financial planning with the company's strategic goals.

  • Drive the delivery of variance analysis and provide actionable insights to improve cost efficiency and profitability.

  • Monitor and optimise cash flow and treasury management to support business continuity and growth.

  • Collaborate with the senior management team to evaluate growth opportunities, capital investments, and operational risks.

  • Manage and develop a small finance team, providing mentorship and encouraging continuous professional development


Requirements:



  • Qualified ACA, ACCA, or CIMA

  • Demonstrated ability to oversee both operational and strategic financial activities

  • Extensive experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management

  • High level of integrity with strong interpersonal and communication skills


Salary and Benefits:


  • £75,000 - £80,000, plus car allowance, bonus, and additional benefits
