Cash Application Specialist

We have a new opportunity for a Cash Application Specialist to join our Credit Control team in Leeds.
The Credit Control team provides exceptional service across the UK, focusing on reducing debt and improving working capital.
We're looking for a motivated individual ready to make an impact in this newly created role as Cash Application Specialist. You'll manage remote scanning of payments, post zero pay and adjustments, research credit balances, reconcile client payments, and implement process improvements.
Reporting to the Head of Credit Control, you'll work closely with operational and finance teams.. This role is broad, challenging, and rewarding, requiring ownership, problem-solving, and teamwork.
Based in Leeds, the position offers flexible working in line with Sedgwick’s UK policy. If you're ready for a challenge, we want to hear from you!

Key duties
- Transfer credits to past due balances or issue refunds.
- Manage Lockbox and remote scanning of payments.
- Post zero pay and adjustments.
- Research credit balances.
- Accurately post and reconcile client payments.
- Apply incoming cash and cheques to customer accounts.
- Reconcile revenue accounts.
- Identify and implement process improvements
- Participate in team efforts to achieve goals.
- Team player, flexible, enthusiastic, innovative, and proactive.
- Experienced with financial software and hands-on accounts receivable.
- Understanding of general accounting principles and ability to follow SOPs.
- Demonstrates integrity and good judgement in handling confidential information.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and effective follow-up.
- Attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Excellent organisation and time management skills.
- Analytical skills and ability to quickly understand and solve issues.
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
