Geoenvironmental Engineer

Job Description

We are working with a Consultancy who is seeking a Geo - environmental Engineer. The position is with their team in Leeds to assist in the delivery of site investigation projects and the supervision of remedial works and earthworks across the UK.

Duties will include the preparation of desk studies and factual and interpretative ground investigation reports. Hazardous ground gas / groundwater monitoring and sampling. Management and supervision of siteworks and ground investigation works, to include logging and sampling of soil and rock.

Key Responsibilities:

• A relevant science or engineering degree (e.g. geology, environmental science, civil engineering).


• A Masters degree with a geoenvironmental or geotechnical focus is desirable, though not essential.


• At least two years relevant post-graduate experience. Either with an engineering consultancy or ground investigation contractor.


• Good organisational skills and the ability to manage time effectively.


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to generate reports.


• Confidence when dealing with subcontractors.


• Ability to deliver projects and work within a multi-disciplinary consultancy.


• Working towards chartered status with a professional body (e.g. CEng, CSci, CGeol).


• Willingness to work away from home for extended periods of time.

A multidisciplinary engineering consultancy focused on projects in Yorkshire.
