Experience working with Children and Young People as a support worker.
This is a permanent position and would be ideal for people around Chester.
We also have roles in Congleton, Stafford, Stoke, or Crewe.
Rota and shifts available are:
- 8am – 10pm days
- 8am – 8.30am (sleep shift 11pm-7.30am sleeping)
- 9.30pm – 8.30am (waking night)
Sleeps paid at £70. Waking nights are time and a third.
Pay scales – £12.21 – £13.22 depending on experience and qualifications.
Preferred Criteria
- NVQ level 2 or 3 Health and Social care OR Children and Young People
This is a permanent position supporting children in a residential setting based in the area. A great company with excellent benefits and opportunities for progression.
Although permanent, we are also looking for candidates who can start immediately on a temp-to-perm basis. This will be full-time for the first 12 weeks, moving onto a permanent contract on week 13.
Supporting children aged between 05-16, you will help increase their independence skills and support them in various ways.
It is essential that you have experience working in a similar setting and preferably have completed NVQ3 Children & Young People Workforce or a similar qualification in this sector.
Qualifications/Requirements
- High standard of general education.
- Preferably NVQ Level 3 Health & Social Care – Children and Young People (CCYP) or equivalent.
- Willingness to undertake further training.
- Current full driving licence with business insurance.
Job Purpose
To provide support for vulnerable people (service users) for the company.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist the young person’s allocated social worker in delivering the service, including:
- Providing transport/escort as directed
- Conducting welcome and induction for young people
- Performing ongoing assessments
- Providing ongoing support and monitoring
- Assisting with welfare and NHS issues
- Preparing reports
- Arranging appointments with partner agencies
- Maintaining contact with young people
- Informing service users about support groups
- Assisting with move-on processes
- Accurately record, create, maintain, and update electronic records of young people.
- Prepare for and attend meetings as required.
- Provide mediation to service users as needed.
- Use IT packages effectively to support work.
- Work cooperatively across multidisciplinary teams.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding service users, clients, and the company.
- Participate in policy and procedure development.
- Report housing issues and assist in resolving defects.
- Undertake on-call duties as directed.
- Participate in office reception duties when required.
- Work sleep-in shifts as needed.
- Show flexibility to cover all offices across the company as required.
