We're looking for a Collections & Recoveries Advisor

We understand that every account needs to be handled based on their own unique circumstances. With this in mind, we don't use a dialler. We want to prioritise meaningful conversations with our customers and allow our advisors enough time to address the needs of each account.

About us

Fast, flexible finance empowers small businesses to manage their cash flow better and seize opportunities - making their business and the economy stronger as a whole. At iwoca, we do just that. We help businesses get the funds they need, when they need it, often within minutes.

We've already made several billion in funding available to over 100,000 businesses since we launched in 2012, and positioned ourselves as a leading Fintech in Europe. Our mission is to finance one million businesses. We'll get there by continuing to make our finance ever more relevant and accessible to more businesses by combining cutting-edge technology, data science and a 5-star customer service.

Our culture

We're expanding fast across our offices in London, Leeds and Frankfurt. With all this growth, we're looking for people who want to learn on the job and lead projects, knowing that your ideas will impact thousands of small businesses.

Your mission

  • Having purposeful conversations with customers in early arrears to recover payment or ascertain the reason for missed payment and scheduling the next steps accordingly
  • Building relationships with customers through regular contact to validate, understand and resolve breaches of their loan agreements with customers
  • Handling high levels of inbound and outbound calls and sending emails with the greatest level of care, in a diligent, professional and efficient manner
  • Negotiating, implementing and monitoring feasible repayment solutions that take into account the client's circumstances while balancing the best interests of the business
  • Working closely with the Collections Team Leader and Collections Specialists to review and develop processes to ensure maximum efficiency
  • Ensuring compliance with all appropriate legislation regulatory body guidelines and adhering to our company policies and procedures.

Requirements

We look for people who are smart, humble, motivated and who are always looking to improve.

Ideally you'll have:

  • Proven experience in debt recovery, ideally in the commercial/business sector in a call based environment
  • Empathy, forbearance and professionalism
  • Strong communication skills on both phone and email
  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
  • The ability to deal with a variety of challenges, innovate and think on your feet
  • Business acumen, entrepreneurial spirit with real enthusiasm for helping SMEs

Don't take this list as prescriptive: it's just to give you a sense of who might do well at the job. We'd still love to hear from you if you don't hit every point on the list, or if you have other experience.

We want to pay all of our employees fairly, so that's why we regularly benchmark salaries based on market rates and to recognise your increasing value to our business. Work-life balance is incredibly important at iwoca and we offer flexible working so you can make better use of your free time. This is a hybrid role in which you can split your time between the office and home.

We want to make iwoca a place where everyone feels welcome, where you can confidently be yourself. We understand that inclusivity, and diversity that comes through greater inclusivity, isn't an optional add-on; it's the core ingredient of what makes us great. We care about making iwoca a healthy and happy community for all of our team members to thrive in.

Whilst we welcome applications from all qualified candidates, please note that for this particular position we cannot offer visa sponsorship. Candidates should be eligible to work in the UK independently.
