Introduction
Arla Foods are looking for proficient and reliable Transport Assistant to join the team on a full time and permanent basis. Working 40 hours per week you will join our Leeds based multifunctional team to collaborate closely with the whole of Logistics. The role will see you interacting with all levels within the organisation from Vice President to front line colleagues . There are opportunities to develop within the role and the organisation.
Main ResponsibilitiesAs a Transport Assistant you will be providing planning support for the logistic departments & depots. You will reconcile data, identify and drive cost savings and manage purchase orders and invoice queries. You will also provide out of hours cover for operational queries on a rota basis
Skills and competenciesWe are looking for an individual who has the ability to understand and take control of data administration & invoicing whilst always looking for ways of improving and streamlining processes. You must have excellent communication skills with the confidence to challenge where necessary. In addition we are also looking for the following:
• Ability to multitask and prioritise to keep track of workload
• Adaptable approach to changes in the business
• Able to deal with sensitive/confidential information
• High standard of accuracy and attention to detail
• Proactive approach and ability to act on own initiative
• Excellent numeracy and IT skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Excellent organisational skills
Arla is a fast paced environment but has a unique culture and invest in its people. Within the administrative role accuracy is paramount. The role is involves working within a friendly, supportive team but you also must also be able to work alone. There are deadlines which must be met each week and month , so the need to prioritise is
essential. Experience in the financial sector would be an advantage but not essential as full training will be given.
