About the Role
Role Overview:
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Account Manager to oversee and grow relationships with our construction sector clients requiring skip hire and waste management services. You will act as the key liaison between our company and customers, ensuring seamless service delivery, timely invoicing, and environmental compliance, while developing long-term account value.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Relationship Management: Serve as the main point of contact for a portfolio of construction clients, building strong relationships and understanding each site’s unique needs.
Service Coordination: Ensure the on-time delivery and collection of skips, managing scheduling in line with customer project timelines.
Invoicing & Billing: Ensure accurate and timely invoicing, address discrepancies, and collaborate with internal teams to maintain financial accuracy.
Customer Complaints: Investigate and resolve service issues or complaints promptly, escalating as needed to ensure client satisfaction.
Site Meetings: Conduct regular on-site meetings with clients to monitor service delivery and address operational concerns.
Compliance Monitoring: Ensure services comply with environmental regulations and company policies.
Performance Monitoring: Work towards KPIs and SLAs, report regularly on service performance, and identify areas for improvement.
Account Development: Identify opportunities to upsell or cross-sell additional waste services, including hazardous waste, recycling, or scheduled collections.
Budget Oversight: Monitor customer spend versus budget, providing insights to help manage costs.
Quarterly Business Reviews: Lead structured reviews with key clients to discuss performance, feedback, and growth opportunities.
Key Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience in account management within waste, logistics, or construction sectors.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Understanding of environmental regulations and waste management practices.
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to resolve issues swiftly.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM/accounting systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of skip hire logistics and site operations within construction.
- Experience working to SLAs/KPIs and conducting business reviews.
- Environmental compliance training or certification is a plus.
