Location: UK-wide (Hybrid/Remote with occasional client site visits)

Role Overview

The Senior Data Analyst will lead the delivery of insight-driven analysis within multidisciplinary teams. This role requires expertise in data exploration, statistical modelling, visualisation, and stakeholder engagement to produce actionable intelligence that supports decision-making and service optimisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate client needs into analytical tasks and develop clear, actionable insights
  • Present findings using reports, dashboards, and presentations tailored to diverse audiences
  • Identify opportunities to apply advanced analytics and machine learning techniques
  • Communicate statistical methods and data insights clearly across technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Work with structured and unstructured data from multiple sources, including open data
  • Apply data cleaning, management, and blending techniques using modern tools
  • Utilise data analysis and visualisation tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker Studio)
  • Explore and validate data from warehouses, lakes, and cloud-based platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP, Snowflake)
  • Use SQL and programming languages such as Python, R, Scala, or Julia
  • Identify data quality issues and propose solutions for improvement
  • Contribute to internal knowledge sharing and represent the organisation externally (e.g., blogs, workshops)
  • Mentor junior analysts and contribute to capability building within the team

Candidate Profile

Essential:

  • Proven experience in data analysis, data modelling, and data visualisation
  • Proficiency in BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker Studio)
  • Strong SQL skills and working knowledge of one or more analytics languages (Python, R, etc.)
  • Experience with web analytics platforms (Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics)
  • Familiarity with cloud analytics environments (AWS, Azure, GCP, Snowflake)
  • Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills
  • Proven mentoring or coaching experience

Desirable:

  • Background in public sector or consultancy environments
  • Knowledge of big data platforms (e.g., Spark, Splunk)
  • A strong interest in continuous professional development and technology trends
