Role Overview
The Senior Data Analyst will lead the delivery of insight-driven analysis within multidisciplinary teams. This role requires expertise in data exploration, statistical modelling, visualisation, and stakeholder engagement to produce actionable intelligence that supports decision-making and service optimisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate client needs into analytical tasks and develop clear, actionable insights
- Present findings using reports, dashboards, and presentations tailored to diverse audiences
- Identify opportunities to apply advanced analytics and machine learning techniques
- Communicate statistical methods and data insights clearly across technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Work with structured and unstructured data from multiple sources, including open data
- Apply data cleaning, management, and blending techniques using modern tools
- Utilise data analysis and visualisation tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker Studio)
- Explore and validate data from warehouses, lakes, and cloud-based platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP, Snowflake)
- Use SQL and programming languages such as Python, R, Scala, or Julia
- Identify data quality issues and propose solutions for improvement
- Contribute to internal knowledge sharing and represent the organisation externally (e.g., blogs, workshops)
- Mentor junior analysts and contribute to capability building within the team
Candidate Profile
Essential:
- Proven experience in data analysis, data modelling, and data visualisation
- Proficiency in BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker Studio)
- Strong SQL skills and working knowledge of one or more analytics languages (Python, R, etc.)
- Experience with web analytics platforms (Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics)
- Familiarity with cloud analytics environments (AWS, Azure, GCP, Snowflake)
- Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills
- Proven mentoring or coaching experience
Desirable:
- Background in public sector or consultancy environments
- Knowledge of big data platforms (e.g., Spark, Splunk)
- A strong interest in continuous professional development and technology trends
