With ambitious goals ahead, we need dedicated individuals who are ready to make a real impact as part of our expanding Housing team. As a Senior Project Manager within the wider Regeneration team, you will play a key role in delivering impactful projects that shape the future of our communities. With a clear focus on project management and programme delivery from a placemaking and regeneration perspective, this includes managing funding agreements and overseeing a diverse range of high-profile initiatives.
Based in West Yorkshire, you will be at the forefront of delivering housing and regeneration schemes, creating sustainable, thriving places for people to live and work. Previous experience in this area of project management is key, as you will be responsible for transformational growth through managing capital budgets relating to government funded schemes, initiatives, and regeneration-led activity. You will have previously worked in partnership with a variety of stakeholders, ideally but not essentially in a political context, developing funding agreements and contracts, managing risk, and ensuring compliance with organisational processes.
The Role
· Lead and manage major economic and transformational projects, ensuring alignment with business cases, strategies, and policies at the Combined Authority (CA).
· Oversee land, commercial and grant negotiations, while working with external partners to ensure project alignment with regional economic growth and regeneration objectives.
· Be the lead representative for the CA for your functions and be a visible senior officer.
Please review the Role Profile on our website for more information about the responsibilities.
About You
You will have the following essential key skills, attributes, education and experience:
· A degree in a relevant field, or relevant demonstrable practical experience performing in a similar role.
· Experience of leading and managing land and/or property developments, along with commercial negotiations for either major housing, regeneration or placemaking capital projects.
· Experience of managing commercial contracts and negotiations, which could include property acquisitions, leases, legal security and overage, and knowledge of legal complexities of site assembly to bring forward delivery of capital works.
· Ability to negotiate and take a commercial approach to the management of funding to third parties, whilst working partnership to achieve results.
· Experience of business case development.
· Proven project management skills, and knowledge of a variety of techniques and good practice.
· An understanding of contractual mechanisms to safeguard public investment is desirable.
Our Offer
Alongside a competitive salary, we offer an excellent benefits package including:
· 28 days Annual Leave (increasing upon years of service) plus Bank Holidays
· Generous Employer-Contribution Pension Scheme
· Free Travel on rail and buses across West Yorkshire with the M-Card (Zones 1-5)
· Flexible Working Practices with Health & Wellbeing initiatives, including agile working options, as well as a generous flexi-time scheme to ensure you achieve the best work/life balance and career goals.
· Bright, airy, modern office space, with all latest technology, just a 2-minute walk from Leeds Train Station.
