We are a busy GP surgery based in Morley looking to recruit part time/full time GP receptionists to join our friendly team. We are seeking individuals who are highly motivated, professional, and possess excellent customer service skills. Hours are over 5 days, Monday - Friday, between 8:00am - 6:30pm (AM and PM shifts), but must be flexible and able to swap shifts to cover holidays and sickness.


Main duties of the job

The role involves working in a busy environment, providing reception duties such as answering phones, greeting patients, and handling general inquiries professionally and accurately. We value team players who can also use their initiative when needed.


Responsibilities include managing appointment bookings, patient registration, handling requests for forms and payments, coordinating home visits, managing patient notes, and supporting administrative tasks like mailing, filing, and maintaining confidentiality.


Additional duties include assisting with training new staff, participating in team meetings, and ensuring compliance with health and safety, confidentiality, and safeguarding policies.

We are a forward-thinking practice serving approximately 17,500 patients, with a friendly, hardworking, and supportive atmosphere. Our team includes reception, admin, nursing, prescription, secretarial staff, and GPs. We are a SystmOne practice with a recent 'Good' CQC rating.


Person Specification
Experience
  • At least 1 year of medical receptionist experience, including familiarity with SystmOne.

Qualifications

  • Good general education, including GCSEs in Mathematics and English (C or above).

  • Experience in customer-facing roles, with excellent communication skills.

  • Strong time management and ability to work under deadlines.

  • Interpersonal skills, caring and professional communication.

  • Enthusiastic, motivated, flexible, and able to work as part of a team.

  • Qualification in Customer Care and experience in healthcare settings preferred.

  • Knowledge of care navigation and signposting patients, with experience in SystmOne advantageous.
