Location: Leeds, Leeds International Study Centre
Salary: up to £39,605.59 per annum
Leeds International Study Centre and its programmes are provided by Study Group in collaboration with the University of Leeds and Leeds Beckett University.
You will work with colleagues across the Centre to ensure the effective delivery of teaching programmes in line with our education strategy, scholarship, and aims for an outstanding student experience. You will contribute to student support and the development and implementation of innovative teaching practices. As a tutor, you will help design, develop, and deliver teaching and learning materials across various modules or within a subject area.
The Project Skills module offers students a chance to research a topic related to their progression degree, engaging them in academic project work to develop scholarly, research, and transferable skills necessary for undergraduate progression.
ABOUT THE ROLE
- Provide academic coordination for designated module(s) as a module coordinator.
- Participate in regular meetings with teaching and support staff to manage programmes and the student lifecycle.
- Contribute to the design, delivery, and development of modules.
- Contribute to the delivery and assessment of modules.
- Prepare examinations and assessments, mark, and give feedback to students.
- Maintain the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE).
- Work with the Student Experience Team and Registry to deliver induction, orientation, and registration programs.
- Liaise with the Progression, Welfare, and Support team to assist students' progression goals.
- Engage in scholarly activities to keep module delivery current.
- Implement quality assurance procedures and contribute to programme reviews.
- Use centre systems to log and monitor student attendance and engagement.
- Complete sponsor and academic reports for students.
- Participate in activities like VLE development and peer observation.
- Undertake teaching observations and staff development to maintain standards.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Business and Centre Director.
- Promote health, safety, and wellbeing, adhering to safety protocols.
ABOUT YOU
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject area.
- A Master’s qualification is desirable.
- Experience teaching in UK higher or further education, preferably with a teaching qualification and experience working with international students.
