Fawkes & Reece are proud to be partnered with a market leading Principal Main Contractor seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join their growing team in Leeds.

The role of a Senior Estimator

As an experienced Senior Estimator you will play a key part of the thriving pre-construction team, responsible for preparing detailed and accurate cost estimates for residential, commercial and office to residential refurbishment, fit-outs and new build projects, typically ranging up to £30m. Providing a unique in-house approach delivering value and expertise in maximising offices into residential spaces with consistently high quality project delivery.

Responsibilities of an Estimator

  • Responsible for the financial preparation of bids/ tenders for the business.
  • Work in partnership with the team throughout the pre-construction and bid/ tender process.
  • Ensure bids/ tenders are risk assessed and reported to the directors.
  • Manage mid bid/ tender and Final tender adjudications with directors.
  • Prepare costings/ submissions in the agreed format consistent with the company branding.
  • Present costings/ submissions to the directors for review.
  • Manage handover of successful bids/ tenders to the delivery team.
  • Preparing the cost components of the proposal, including understanding of the task, planning, assessing past performance and personnel in partnership with the management team
  • Attend meetings with Client, Designers, Project Managers and relevant stakeholders as required

Requirements for an Estimator

  • Minimum 5 years main contractor experience.
  • Experience working on Residential refurbishment project with values up to £5m+.
  • Valid UK driving license.
  • Relevant construction related degree or qualification
  • Proficiency in relevant industry software packages e.g. Microsoft, Bluebeam and CostX
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills
