What You Will Do
- Turn flat UI/UX designs and style guides into functional user interfaces, architected to a high standard
- Write high-quality, clean code that meets the customers’ needs so that others can build and contribute in the future.
- Create incredible experiences for the customer through your detailed understanding of the latest frontend web development technologies
- Build our best in class Retail devices – Self-service kiosks, point of sales and UIs for multi-panel displays
- Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and QA to iterate on the life cycle of our product
- Understand design patterns and write reusable, modular code
- Participate in peer code reviews; offering and receiving candid feedback
- Actively participate in architectural discussions
- 4+ years of frontend development experience
- Experience in writing performant and maintainable user interfaces and GraphQL APIs using the tech you’d expect to be using (TypeScript, React, React Native, Redux, federated distributions, expo, nx)
- A desire to utilise your engineering skills within our cloud-based (AWS) backend services is positively encouraged - we’re enthusiastic practitioners of “full stack” engineering
- Willingness to advocate for and uphold code quality through comprehensive code review.
- Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of core engineering principles
- Familiarity with modern software engineering practices and continuous integration and delivery
- Comfortable working in a tech-driven environment with the ability to coordinate across several key stakeholder groups
- You are detail and results oriented with excellent problem-solving skills
- Good communication and collaborative skills, working with developers, designers, managers, vendors, and stakeholders across a wide range of expertise areas
- Strong customer focus recognising internal and external customers, establishing effective relationships and demonstrating a thorough understanding of customer needs
- Thrive in agile teams and ready to take on new and unexpected challenges while building the next wave of engineering solutions
- You possess a strong sense of engineering craftsmanship, take pride in your code
- You’re pragmatic - you make the best use of time and resources to find the simplest workable solution
