DevOps Engineer - #1744586

Overview

The DevOps Engineer will develop and maintain bespoke software and customisations for SEP2 and its customers, whilst maintaining the infrastructure to deliver those services. 

This is a full time position that can either be based on a hybrid working model if the Leeds office is within a commutable distance or remotely with occasional trips to the Leeds office when required.

Main Tasks

- Create custom code or components to meet SEP2 or customer needs  

- Build integrations between existing systems to improve user experience and efficiency  

- Work with staff in other departments to understand requirements and deadlines  

- Maintain code bases in SEP2s central repository pertinent to the role  

- Track project progress accurately including time spent on individual projects  

- Ensure that all code and systems are built with security in mind  

- Ensure that all code is thoroughly tested before it is deployed live  

- Create and maintain documentation pertinent to the role  

- Create and maintain SEP2 systems that deliver services to customers and internal staff  

- Become a key part of delivering change to SEP2 systems

- Ability to solo to solve issues, create documentation and deploy systems  

- Able to work with others to create solutions which fit the needs of other teams  

- Desire to always want to improve and adapt solutions  

- Willingness to learn new technologies   

Qualifications and Experience

- Coding in Python

- Project delivery experience

- Linux administration

- Containerization specifically Kubernetes

- Experience on Infrastructure as code tools (Ansible, Terraform)

- Experience with GitOps principles
