What You'll Bring

We’re looking for a Principal Database Engineer to join our growing team.

Day To Day You’ll Be

  • Assume the Development Technical/Team manager role of scrum
  • Write well-structured, maintainable code
  • Work with Senior Developers and Architects to design new products or enhancements/changes to existing product.
  • Ensure development is carried out to the department policy, procedures and technical/process standards.
  • Involvement in Process Improvement
  • Assist and supports junior colleagues as required.
  • Provides technical consultancy and knowledge support to the wider business.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders and internal teams to resolve reported issues as quickly as possible.
  • Adheres to technical constraints laid out in Architecture Definition

Essential Skills & Experience

  • The ability to motivate and inspire a team
  • Solid commercial experience of programming, including C# and SQL.
  • Experience creating distributed, service-based systems
  • Experience of modern CI/CD practices and techniques
  • Experience of automated testing and deployment
  • Ideally been involved in the design of complex systems
  • Have a curiosity for new technologies and techniques, and keep yourself up to date
  • Communicate well, both with technical and non-technical staff
