Are you a commercially astute finance leader ready to take on a role with visibility, scope, and real influence?

We're recruiting a high-calibre Finance Business Partner – Operations to join a fast-paced, complex group business at a pivotal point in its transformation journey. Acting as the right hand to the Head of Commercial Finance, you’ll lead operational finance delivery across both retail and technology-driven functions, supporting executive stakeholders and owning value creation initiatives.

This is a senior leadership role with two direct reports, a seat at the table, and accountability for commercial insight, FP&A, investment appraisal, governance, and financial strategy.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Partnering with senior operational leaders to drive insight-led decisions and improve performance across a diverse UK and European operation.
  • Leading budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and financial modelling for core retail and technology divisions.
  • Driving enterprise value through commercial challenge, cost control, and strategic investment appraisal.
  • Owning governance processes, supporting project investment forums, and ensuring financial rigour.
  • Managing, coaching and developing a small but high-performing business partnering team.
  • Playing a key role in change initiatives and performance improvement projects.
  • Leveraging tech and data tools (ERP, Power BI etc.) to elevate reporting and drive automation.

What we’re looking for:

  • Qualified accountant (CIMA / ACCA / ACA) with extensive experience in commercial finance or operational FP&A.
  • Proven background in business partnering at senior levels within complex or matrix businesses.
  • Experience in retail, tech or data-led environments is advantageous.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity, pace, and working across functions to drive outcomes.
  • An engaging leader, confident communicator, and strategic thinker.
  • Strong technical finance, modelling and presentation skills, particularly with Excel, Power BI and PowerPoint.
