Sales Advisor - SME & Specialisms Insurance - Leeds

Do you have experience handling insurance risks ideally from within the SME Insurance landscape? Are you adept at making and building lasting working relationships with clients and insurers alike?


If so, then we'd love to hear from you in connection with this fantastic New Business Advisor role, focusing on wining new clients within the SME Insurance team.


This is a hybrid working role, with the flexibility to work both virtually and from our fantastic office based in Leeds Embankment.

What the day will look like


The role is focused on maximising clients from verified leads provided daily from our digital online investment, marketing campaigns, external brokers and partnerships as well as internal referrals from other Aon solution lines.


As a Sales Advisor your key responsibilities will include:


  • Working independently whilst supporting the team to ensure delivery of the highest level of service to each assigned Client.
  • Identify potential improvements in Client risk & insurance programme and implement recommended changes for Clients if required.
  • Negotiate new business terms, Mid Term adjustments and cover extensions for clients withing the SME sector.
  • Establish and develop effective working relationships with Insurers and where appropriate, differentiating with the Client; the cover, service and industry knowledge that a specific Insurer could deliver to them.
  • Identify revenue development opportunities on allocated Client accounts and partnerships, using knowledge of products/services in the wider Aon community, and make appropriate recommendations to Clients.
  • Identify revenue development opportunities in the SME sector and help drive and contribute to the client acquisition strategy.

Skills and experience that will lead to success


  • Commercial insurance experience required, ideally gained at a established broker however full training will be provided.
  • Fully conversant with FCA principles, procedures and process
  • Good understanding of insurance covers in the commercial sector
  • Organised, with the ability to prioritise work, delivering accurately and on time
  • Embrace change and react positively
  • Proven relationship management skills
  • Must work well in a team and collaborate with others
  • Experience of using the Acturis system is essential
