We are currently recruiting for an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to join a highly regarded professional services organisation based in Leeds. This is a hybrid opportunity offering a dynamic working environment and the chance to lead a high-performing team within a well-established finance function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Accounts Payable and Disbursements teams, ensuring timely and accurate processing of supplier payments and expense claims.
  • Lead, coach and develop a team, supporting both their professional growth and performance delivery.
  • Maintain and enhance financial controls, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements, including a strong working knowledge of the Solicitors Accounts Rules.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships across the business, effectively communicating and influencing at all levels.
  • Review, develop, and improve accounts payable processes, driving efficiency and best practice throughout the function.
  • Maintain high standards of accuracy and attention to detail, particularly when working under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Ensure work is appropriately delegated within the team, with a focus on consistent service delivery and team collaboration.

Candidate Requirements

  • Proven experience managing an Accounts Payable or Disbursements function within a professional services environment.
  • Strong leadership capability, with a demonstrable track record of team management and coaching.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of accounts payable processes, controls, and procedures.
  • Experience in process improvement and driving change within a finance function.
  • Confident stakeholder manager with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities effectively.
  • Legal sector experience is advantageous but not essential.
