JOB TITLE: Data Privacy Manager - 12 Month FTC/Secondment
SALARY: The salary banding for this role is £65,385 - £72,650
LOCATION: You'll be based within one of our Data Centres of Excellence in Insurance, Pensions & Investments (IP&I), which are in Bristol, Edinburgh and Leeds
HOURS: 35 hours, full time
WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites.

We're looking for an expert in Data Privacy and Records Management, who can help to support our Insurance, Pensions & Investments colleagues to navigate the complexities of regulation, and manage their data privacy and records risks.
What will I be doing?
Responsible for reviewing Data Privacy Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and Records Assessments (RAs) to ensure key risks have been identified and managed to within our risk appetite. This may involve reviewing related documents to help inform your end-to-end view of the processing activities, such as cloud and other security assessments.
Identify, describe and score residual risks in line with our risk management framework, and ensure they are taken through appropriate governance
Provide advice and guidance on the application of regulation to different scenarios
Support the development of the team planning each quarter, propose and deliver ideas to improve our team processes, and proactively look for ways to reduce our data risk exposure and improve the control environment
Use data to analyse and report on key trends to drive actions
Complete data flow mapping to ensure our data remains traceable
Develop and deliver training to upskill colleagues across the Platforms and wider
Support with completion of Policy Compliance Assessments, and with delivery of updates and papers to Executive Committees
Support with complaints, individual rights and breach handling, and perform deep dives into areas of concern

What you'll need
An appropriate Data Privacy qualification to Practitioner level.
A solid understanding of UK GDPR, DPA 2018 and other relevant laws (PECR, EU AI Act, etc), and will be up to date with the latest regulatory thinking in this space.
Experience in reviewing DPIAs/RAs, reviewing and creating Records of Processing Activities (RoPA), providing guidance on Individual Rights Requests, and investigating privacy related complaints.
Strong understanding of third-party risk management and data sharing agreements.
Good understanding of insurance, pensions & investments products.
Detailed understanding of the Group Data Policy and its associated standards.
The ability to translate complex privacy requirements into clear guidance for business teams.
Strong stakeholder management skills, including working with legal, compliance, IT, and product teams
Have an inquisitive approach who is passionate about protecting our customers data but is able to make balanced and well-informed judgements to support the business to achieve its objectives.
And any experience of these would be really useful
Experience in managing data risks associated with AI and Machine Learning
