Attendance Officer (Temporary) - Veritas Education

Location: Various Schools across Leeds and Wakefield Contract Type: Temporary ongoing roles Start Date: As soon as possible. Salary: Competitive hourly rates (Dependent on Experience)

Veritas Education is a leading education recruitment agency dedicated to supporting schools in achieving their full potential. We are currently looking for a temporary Attendance Officer to join our team and assist schools in maintaining excellent attendance records and supporting student welfare.

As an Attendance Officer, you will be responsible for:

• Monitoring and managing student attendance daily
• Identifying patterns of poor attendance and working closely with students, parents, and staff to improve overall attendance rates
• Reporting attendance data accurately and promptly to the relevant school leaders
• Following up on absenteeism and ensuring appropriate documentation and actions are in place
• Supporting the development and implementation of attendance improvement strategies
• Providing administrative support related to attendance records and issues

Key Requirements:

• Previous experience in an administrative or attendance-related role (preferably in an educational setting)
• Strong communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with students, parents, and staff
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office or other relevant software
• A proactive and empathetic approach to supporting students and resolving attendance issues
