As a Facilities Officer, you will bring to the role:
As our next Facilities Officer you’ll maintain a well maintained, safe and secure environment as part of the Facilities Team. You will provide reactive maintenance, support planned maintenance, work with the homes electrical mechanical systems, support positive relationships with staff, young people and contractors. You will possess knowledge of building systems, maintenance practices and relevant legislation, ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities, good written and verbal communication skills, an ability to identify and resolve facility-related issues efficiently. You will have previous experience and relevant qualifications. This role is an integral part of our Business and Development team.

Job Description Job Purpose

Responsibilities
- Carry out works to support efficient delivery of services including but not limited to driving, labouring, erecting and dismantling access equipment, and site preparatory work, general site duties and building maintenance work to a level associated with DIY to ensure buildings, fabric, fixtures fittings and grounds are maintained.
- Work in partnership with staff and external agencies to ensure buildings, fabric, fixtures, fittings and grounds are maintained, well presented, safe and secure
- Ensure correct use of IT systems and equipment ensuring that accurate data is recorded to assist with evidencing work completed.
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance tasks.
- Liaise and communicate effectively with staff and young people to deliver excellent customer service.
- In the interests of safety and security to supervise external contractors as required
- Use electronic building management systems to ensure the efficient running of the home
- Support the delivery of a performance focused, safe, efficient repairs and maintenance service.
- Achieve high levels of efficiency and customer service prioritising health, safety and wellbeing of colleagues within Leeds City Council.
- Engage in the review and production of risk assessments for tasks undertaken within the role.
- Manage stock/materials (where appropriate) to ensure it is maintained to an appropriate level, replenishing as required.
- Ensure vehicle, plant, tools and equipment issued are kept secure, maintained and used in line with manufacturer's instructions/guidance.
- Support and mentor apprentices/ trainees and new staff, helping them to settle successfully into their new role.
- Full UK Driving Licence.

- Use technology and associated applications e.g. use of connect, taking photographs, use of new apps etc.
- Proven ability to work as part of a team and independently to deliver high-quality service.
- Work flexibly across different work locations and areas as appropriate.
- Good communication skills for working with other professionals and members of the public.
- Pass on information effectively and accurately.
- Maintain digital records, stock lists as appropriate and arrange efficient replenishment.
- Deal with conflict situations and undertake lone workin
- Organise and prioritise work.
- Knowledge and understanding of effective ways to keep own knowledge updated.
- Understanding the need for confidentiality.
- Knowledge of Health and Safety procedures and safety hazards in the workplace.
- Knowledge of scaffolding and cherry picker appropriate.
- Demonstrate recent relevant experience working in a similar role.
- Experience of working in joinery, general maintenance or electrical mechanical engineering
- Practical experience of Health and Safety legislation including CDM 2015.
- Be able to demonstrate high standards of customer
