Date: 1 day ago
City: Leeds
Contract type: Contractor
Work schedule: Full day

Overview
Our highly regarded and award-winning financial services regulatory team is looking for an experienced associate to help support and grow our non-contentious financial services offering.
You'll be joining a high performing and hugely ambitious team providing market-leading and specialist legal advice to a range of financial services clients. Our typical clients include those offering consumer, motor, asset and mortgage finance, as well as savings, insurance and other regulated retail products. We act for many household names across our core sectors.
You'll be given a strong support network, work alongside market-leading lawyers, have great learning opportunities and a genuine freedom for you to thrive and reach your potential.
What you'll be doing as a Financial Services Regulatory Associate:
You'll handle a variety of financial services matters for household names, including national and international clients. You'll be supporting our team's non-contentious work from advising on the regulator perimeter, preparing applications for permissions and policies and procedures, reviewing and drafting contractual and other statutory documentation, advising on remediation issues and interactions with the Financial Conduct Authority and the Financial Ombudsman Service. You'll be given responsibility from the outset, with support where you need it.
Our team also includes colleagues working on contentious financial services matters. You'll work closely with them, and we take pride in having a team of lawyers who have experience advising on both contentious and non-contentious issues. Many of our team have both drafted lending documentation, and successfully defended claims brought against lenders. We think our unique mix of contentious and non-contentious experience helps us to develop our lawyers and equips them to help our clients make difficult and fully-informed judgment calls .
What we are looking for:
Our shared values represent our culture and the things that are important to us. They define who we are as a Firm, as an employer and what we expect of our people. They provide direction and purpose by influencing the decisions that we make and the actions that we take. It’s really important that all candidates and employees demonstrate these values in their day-to-day activities:
We take great pride in being a Disability Confident Employer. If you need any reasonable adjustments throughout the recruitment process, please don't hesitate to ask.
