Overview

Our client, a user-focused digital consultancy, is seeking an experienced Senior Front-End Developer to join a multidisciplinary team delivering impactful digital services. The successful candidate will be a technical leader within their team, driving the front-end development of user-centred solutions while mentoring junior developers and contributing to continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert technical leadership on front-end software development, particularly in React and React Native
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to design and deliver scalable, accessible, and secure digital products
  • Ensure robust development and deployment pipelines, resolving issues before they escalate
  • Communicate clearly and confidently with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Support recruitment and contribute to the professional development of peers
  • Represent the team and promote the client’s engineering practice through external engagements such as blogs or conferences

Required Experience and Skills

  • Strong proficiency in React and React Native
  • Comprehensive experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern front-end practices
  • Understanding of web performance optimisation, accessibility standards, and web security principles
  • Familiarity with containerisation tools such as Docker or Kubernetes
  • Proven experience working with AWS services including Lambda, API Gateway, and Fargate
  • Background in microservices design and integrating RESTful APIs
  • Practical knowledge of Agile methodologies including Scrum, Kanban, and Test-Driven Development (TDD)
  • Experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM
  • Skilled in using CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, AWS CodeBuild, Azure DevOps, or Atlassian suite
  • Prior experience on public sector digital projects (e.g., GOV/NHS) is highly desirable
