Job overview The ME/CFS Service is a therapy-based service dedicated to working with people who have a diagnosis of ME/CFS, or persistent fatigue based at the Newsam Centre, Seacroft Hospital. We are looking to recruit a full-time occupational therapist who will join the team on a permanent basis
As an OT in the service, you will have the opportunity to work as part of a well-established MDT offering patients initial assessments, robust clinical formulations, individual treatment/therapy, and group-based interventions either face to face or via remote platforms
The successful candidate will be offered strong support structures including a robust induction, MDT working, professional development, reflective practice, and clinical & management supervision
This is a clinical area with exciting and emerging research developments, and you will expand your skills and knowledge base working with this client group. Main duties of the job This role requires the candidate to undertake comprehensive assessments of both physical and mental health issues and offer evidenced based interventions for this client group, including using activity and fatigue management approaches. This will be on a 1:1 basis in an outpatient clinic therefore the candidate needs to have experience or an interest in providing psychological interventions to an autonomous caseload of patients. The successful candidate will also support the facilitation the service’s modular group programme and contribute to service development initiatives in addition to their clinical role
Qualifications Has a recognised professional qualification e.g., Occupational Therapy
Skills Demonstrates knowledge & experience of delivering a wide range of psychosocial interventions including risk assessments/group facilitation
Experience Has experience of caseload management/autonomous working
Has experience of MDT working
Knowledge Has experience of working with physical health conditions/has an understanding of the impact that physical illness may have on an individual
