Your new role as Senior Management Accountant:



A newly established position reporting directly to the CFO, this Senior Management Accountant role will manage the month end routine, management accounting department and junior accounting heads to drive a value add proposition across the business. Aiding commercial decision making, your role will be a hands-on position and one to provide exposure across departments



Leading a team of 7-8 heads, this Senior Management Accountant role will also be pivotal in developing accounting skills and knowledge, whilst driving change and enhancing process and procedure



This is an office based position Monday-Friday 37.5 hrs over the week. There is flexibility in start and finishing times.



Main role duties:



• Manage several heads within the finance team who take responsibility for the month end routing, management accounting and commercial analysis, whilst developing the skills and setting expectations

• Produce monthly management accounts, including accruals, prepayments, depreciation and supporting analysis

• Monitoring rebate accounts to ensure that rebate payments are made correctly and on time.

• Completing monthly bank reconciliations

• Preparation and review of the financial performance against budget and analysing any variances, this includes the provision of commercial analysis to aid the decision making process

• Working with depot managers to gather data on KPIs and using this information to drive improvements in the business

• Year-end preparations: preparing financial statements, such as the balance sheet and income statement, and ensuring that all financial records are up to date

• Analysing sales data and making provisions for any potential liabilities or losses

• Maintaining an up-to-date record of all fixed assets

• Working with external auditors to ensure that the financial statements are accurate and comply with accounting standards



Experience & Skills required to apply:



Proven experience as a lead in month end routine and management accounts is key. You shall have a proven track record of managing and developing teams. A leader and someone to lead from the front, you shall be technically equipped to work at pace, within a group environment. Someone who can develop and improve process and procedure you shall ideally be ACA, ACCA or CIMA part or fully qualified with strong knowledge of month-end process and ledger management principles, QBE will also be considered. With excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting you shall have strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively with experince of working at this level within a fast paced environment.
