Job Title: Lead Data Architect
Location: Leeds (with hybrid and UK-wide flexibility)
Salary: £67,000 – £76,000 per annum
Contract Type: Full-time

Overview
Our client, a specialist digital consultancy, is seeking a Lead Data Architect to design and implement modern data solutions for large-scale organisations. This role will support multi-disciplinary delivery teams and lead architecture initiatives focused on cloud platforms, governance, and high-impact analytics.
Key Responsibilities
- Define data architecture solutions aligned with organisational and enterprise-wide strategies.
- Create and maintain architectural documentation, including data models, dictionaries, ETL/ELT specifications, and data pipeline diagrams.
- Lead change control and governance practices to ensure integrity of design outputs.
- Advocate for data warehousing modelling standards (e.g. Kimball methodology).
- Analyse source data quality, evaluate API capabilities, and reverse-engineer data models.
- Collaborate with delivery teams to build Agile stories and support development processes.
- Assist with data integration, reconciliation testing, and third-party specification alignment.
- Produce visual data insights using reporting tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
Candidate Profile
- Proven track record in designing scalable data architectures across stakeholder groups.
- Experience with data lake and warehouse platforms (e.g. Snowflake, Databricks).
- Proficiency in at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Deep understanding of data privacy, access control, and security implementation.
- Expertise in OLTP/OLAP design, data modelling, SQL, and data migration.
- Familiarity with reporting and analytics tools including Power BI (DAX), Tableau, and SQL Server tools (SSMS, SSIS, SSRS).
- Consultancy experience and data pipeline design skills are highly desirable.
