Due to upcoming changes to the payroll function Tetra Tech is looking for a Payroll Specialist to join our shared services team, based in Leeds. Reporting directly to the Payroll Manager your will work alongside other payroll professionals to ensure the monthly payroll is processed in a timely and accurate manner.



Your Responsibilities

·Assisting with end to end processing of payroll for approx. 2800 employees with a view to this increasing

·Supporting the migration of other Tetra Tech Operating units on to Tetra Tech system

·End to end IR35 payroll processing

·Process the monthly payroll including starters, leavers, and all other movements

·Effectively liaise with the external payroll providers

·Working with internal and external stakeholders on the benefit schemes

·Continuously review and update internal and external payroll processes

·Understanding and dealing with payroll related queries in an efficient and effective manner

·To undertake all aspects of pension scheme administration including auto enrolment requirements

·To assist with updating the P11D system with quarterly car changes for submission to HMRC and end of year data

·To assist with the change to payrolling of benefits

·To produce weekly and monthly reports for stakeholders

·Providing information for stakeholder requests

·To process third party payments

·Other payroll admin tasks


Skills and Experience



The knowledge and experience required for this role is as follows:

·CIPP or similar qualification is preferred.

·Competent knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word is required.

·An ability to understand working alongside a payroll bureau is desirable.

·Knowledge and experience of IR35 payroll processing is desirable.

·Experience of processing multiple payrolls is desirable.

·Have the ability to adapt to changes in a fast-paced environment.

·Knowledge of calculating and processing statutory payments (SMP, SSP, etc) is required.

·Knowledge and experience of Salary Sacrifice and National Minimum Wage is required.

·Knowledge and experience of manually calculating payments gross to net is required.

·Knowledge of benefit and pension schemes for processing and reconciliation is desirable.

·Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and be able to take ownership of and accept responsibility for tasks.
