Role description:

We are looking for an Associate Technical Director – Electrical Engineering to join our multidisciplinary Places Design Practice.

You’ll be responsible for leading the electrical design on larger projects, managing project teams with up to 30 people, providing support to more junior engineers and have the capability to provide electrical building services expertise.

Role accountabilities:

As an Associate Technical Director, you will take a leadership role within the project team, providing direction and leading by example. You will manage the delivery of projects in accordance with Management Systems to ensure time, quality, budgetary and health and safety targets are met. You’ll also manage the performance of team members and sub-contractors, identifying and ensuring the resolution of any issues.

You will develop and propose potential solutions, providing specialised technical input to major/complex studies and design. You’ll lead interdisciplinary reviews of project deliverables and perform independent technical reviews for projects of moderate complexity.

By working proactively with clients, you will champion client care and ensure maximum client satisfaction. You’ll have the responsibility of managing technical client relationships and you will play a major role in pursuits.

As part of your Associate Technical Director role, we encourage you to keep up to date with developments in the industry, with technical & legislative developments and to seek out opportunities to develop a strong professional profile at a national level (e.g. conference presentations, publications and participating in technical committees)

Qualifications & Experience:

  • A BSc/BEng or MSc/MEng in Electrical Engineering or similar
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng)
  • Significant experience in a similar consultancy environment
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Ability to coach and mentor engineering professionals to support the development of Arcadis’ talent pool.
  • Ability to develop strong relationships with senior client personnel
  • Good problem solving skills
  • Strong influencing skills
