Hours - 36 hours per week, worked as follows: Monday to Thursday 9.00am to 5.15pm with a 1 hour unpaid lunch break, Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm with a 1 hour unpaid lunch break

Holiday – 20 days annual leave (excluding bank holidays) increasing by one day per each year of service (up to a maximum of 5 days), plus your birthday day off

We have an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Tax Advisor in our tax team in the Leeds office.

A fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual to start your career in accountancy, joining an apprenticeship scheme, you will be working towards a prestigious tax qualification (ATT Level 4) and gaining valuable on-the-job experience with a highly respected accountancy firm.

After you achieve your ATT qualifications you will continue to build your career with TC Group and take on greater levels of responsibility. Individuals who show strong aptitude for tax and accounting along with the highest level of academic ability will have the opportunity to work towards a Chartered Tax Advisor qualification.

You will join a dynamic tax team with a high-quality client base, rapidly gaining responsibility by also helping the management team with the office running whilst at the same time completing your tax qualification with us.

You will learn about the preparation of corporate tax returns, interpreting financial statements and advising clients on complex tax matters. Equally as importantly you will learn how to work effectively in a team, how to build strong and lasting professional relationships and also how to deliver exceptional client service. This is a diverse role and you need to be prepared to roll your sleeves up and have a willingness to learn.

About You

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

  • strong GCSE results in both Maths and English, grade 4 or above
  • A levels (C and above) or equivalent
  • excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel
  • strong attention to detail
  • self-motivated and willing to succeed
  • highly personable with excellent communication skills
  • organised, efficient with attention to detail
  • able to demonstrate drive and initiative
  • you need to have a current right to work in the UK
